Unveiling the Universe: Qamcom's role in the SKA Observatory.
Qamcom has been granted a new extended and expanded contract by the Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO). SKAO is a global initiative to build and operate the two largest radio telescopes in the world, located in Australia and South Africa. The purpose is to transform our understanding of the Universe and benefit society through global collaboration and innovation.
Qamcom's responsibility has been extended from hardware development to systems responsibility for a complete subsystem, drawing upon the company's full capabilities, from systems engineering and electronics development to project and production management as well as verification, installation, and integration. This is the first contract awarded by the SKAO to a Swedish company, as part of the commitment of the Observatory to ensure industrial return for each member's industries.

Enabling a safe and efficient road in Tromsø
A narrow, icy mountain road north of Tromsø turns into a logistical bottleneck every Skrei fishing season. With no power supply, no mobile coverage, and limited daylight to work with, finding a way to keep traffic flowing safely demanded a system designed for the harshest conditions imaginable.

Mobile backhaul.
Fast and reliable internet should not be a privilege of geography, but in many rural areas it still is. A global telecom leader set out to change that with a wireless mobile backhaul product capable of fiber-like capacity — and turned to Qamcom for end-to-end development responsibility.

Evolving smart homes in the US with gigabit speed.
The US urban broadband market is dominated by regional players with little real competition. Breaking in required a rooftop product built on the license-free 60 GHz spectrum — and a network architecture that could keep operational cost low at scale.

Achieving next-gen performance on an existing platform.
In High Frequency Trading, every microsecond counts. Aviat Networks needed to push their existing FPGA-based microwave platform past what was thought possible — and do it through a software upgrade alone, without changing the installed hardware that customers had deployed worldwide.
