System Safety into Saved Lives.

System Safety into Saved Lives.

System safety is about sustainability and not relying on luck to survive by confirming that products doesn’t fail and cause casualties . We want to make sure parents come home for dinner, that people survive a day at work and that less children are hurt or killed caused by lack of safety. It can sound dramatic, but it’s because it is dramatic. Not to be killed by a product should be a human right, at least that is our strong opinion. There are no short-cuts, a product is either safe or not. Qamcom has deep expertise and long experience in the field and can contribute to evidencebased safety in several different levels, industries and products. Read more below or contact us for further details.

Qamcom is an established leading provider of services within the System Safety area; including functional safety. A team of 17 dedicated Safety experts with a combined experience of more than 130 years, today advise all major Swedish automotive companies such as Veoneer, Zenuity, Volvo Cars, Scania, Volvo Trucks, CEVT, etc. The experiences in system safety is mainly ISO 26262 but also include IEC 61508, ISO 25119, DO 178C and ISO 13849. We are actively participating in the national (AG8) international working group (WG8) for ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 (SOTIF). During the initial development of the first edition of ISO 26262, we were involved with the development of the concept of Safety Element out of Context. This is much applied today as a means of reuse and up-front development.

The current and foreseeable trend, in the automotive and other industries, is an increasing level and scope of automation. A challenge is to ensure that the increasingly complex functions are developed with safety in mind. The nominal capability of the system shall be adequate to realize the function, and the system must also be capable of safely handling adverse and fault conditions.

”System safety concerns anything and everything. Every industry and any product. Without a focus on safety you are not taking responsibility. A product is either safe or not, there are nothing in between. Our experience, expertise and passion when it comes to safety is unique. System Safety is about not relying on luck to survive, its about proving that products are safe in their context and to make the world a safer place.”
